ADVENTus: The King Has Come
In the Roman world, Adventus meant the arrival of a king or emperor — as soon as his coming was announced, people began making preparations for a grand celebration marking the ruler’s entrance that would bring peace and power to the city. Streets were decorated, crowds gathered, and good news was proclaimed. But the Gospel tells a different story of a different kind of King. Jesus’ Adventus didn’t come in royal splendor but in humble simplicity — born in a manger, bringing life to the full and lasting peace. This Advent, let's prepare our hearts for His coming — the One who still shines through darkness with hope, love, joy, and peace.
